Hello, I'm Ashley! I am passionate about all things birth related. After having my first child via belly birth over eighteen years ago it became apparent to me that I wanted to learn all there was about advocating for your own birth. However, each time I felt the tug to start my doula certification, I found out I was expecting a baby. Now, all of our babies later, we have reached a season in our lives where I can balance both family and birth and I am so excited to start this journey with you and your growing family.
My first three births were cesarean, all circumstances that would have left me feeling differently had I added a doula to my birth team. But I was pregnant with my last when the overwhelming desire and determination set in that I wanted to have my vaginal home birth. I had found a midwife who believed in me, and luckily a friend of mine had offered her doula services to me. Both of these women were integral in bringing my baby girl earth side how I wanted to, but it was my friend and doula who emotionally and mentally kept me in a safe space where I could believe in me, too. And so, late in the night - with my midwife, assistant, husband, oldest daughter and doula at my side cheering me on - I brought our baby girl earth side in my own bed, vaginally. It was the most empowering and redeeming birth I'd had.
Whether you plan for a home birth, vaginal birth, medicated birth, cesarean birth, or any variation in between, I am here to support you, love on you, and help you advocate for the birth you want and deserve.
I am a mother of four beautiful children earth side and one baby girl in heaven, and I am a grandmother to a beautiful baby girl. In addition to my birth work, I spend my days working alongside my husband and our family at his parent's guitar shop. On the weekends we enjoy the beach, playing at the park, walking the pier, hanging out at home, playing music and enjoying family time together. I am a ukulele player, singer, and am currently learning bass.
